BB Subs

As from Friday 2nd July the subs will be as follows:

Anchors and Juniors £2 per boy.
Company and Seniors £3 per boy.

This is the first time we have had to raise the price of subs in many years and we still remain reasonably priced.

Pizza Twists!

On 19th March the Company and Senior Sections had another Cooking session.  This time they made some Pizza Twists.  They all looked amazing and everyone who participated did really well and no burning occurred. 🙂  Thank you to Phil and Alex for stepping in and leading this activity.  I hope everyone enjoyed their efforts.

Flapjack Baking

Zoom Flapjack Baking

Company Section Flapjack Baking

This evening we decided to be brave and trust the older boys in their kitchens to make flapjacks.  Phillip’s lovely Fiancé Alexandra, walked the boy’s through the activity and as you can see here, it was a complete success.  There are some good examples of flapjack baking.  Well Done Boys!

Sad Announcement

It is with great sadness that we have to tell you that a great friend of 3rd Basingstoke Boys Brigade, Brian Wilson has sadly passed away.  Brian has been in the Boys Brigade since joining as a boy and has been a massive part of the BB in Essex.  Brian was the company captain for many years until he recently retired.

We were introduced to Brian through the Bassex Camping Group of which 3rd Basingstoke is a part.

We send our love, condolences and prayers to Brians wife, two daughters, family and all of our friends in Essex that are affected by Brians passing.  He will be sadly missed.

From all the leaders and boys at 3rd Basingstoke BB.

Remembrance 2020

Download and colour in your own Poppy, you can then display it in your window to show your support and remembrance. here

As we head towards Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday, we recognise that things will be different this year, owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. At this time, we would normally be preparing to meet together on Remembrance Sunday in our respective Churches for a service and/or joining with our communities to participate in public parades or services at local war memorials.

Unfortunately, this year we will not be able to do what we have always done, with the majority of public parades and services being cancelled or taking place with restricted numbers or virtually.

The Boys’ Brigade National website has more ideas on their website.

Revised Zoom Times

Please note that to help things run as smoothly as possible the Friday evening Zoom times have been adjusted slightly.  They are as follows:

Anchor Boys:  6.40pm – 7.15pm

Junior Section:  7.15pm – 7.55pm

Company & Senior Lads:  7.50pm – 9.30pm

If you require any more information please contact from the contact page or give us a call.

Company & Seniors Camp 2021

We are pleased to announce that we are putting the final plans together for our 2021 summer camp.  The camp will be open to all Company Section and Senior Section lads.  The camp will be on the Isle of Wight on an excellent campsite that is within walking distance of an amazing beach.

For more information please visit our www.bassex-camping.org website.  We will provide you with more information as soon as it become available.

First Zoom Evening Done!!

Thanks for all the Boys (and parents) who joined in on our first meeting back since March 20th. Ok, it wasn’t at the church but It was on Zoom. It was our first time, so we did have a few tech and timing issues but it got better as the evening progressed.

Thanks also to an ex BB lad/helper Paul, for their help with our updated website where you can find Zoom guidance and further information on the Company. See you all next week

Help Spread the Word

Please help 3rd Basingstoke Boys’ Brigade to spread the word about its new website by sharing on social media.  Social media shares are an important part of any website and where it appears on search engines.  We have added social media shares to all webpages and news items, we would like to invite all parents, boys, and just about everyone to give us a few shares across social media.   Many thanks. #Facebook #Twitter #Socialmedia
